MERMAID WORLD
I'm really happy and excited to share the game I have been working on for the past several months now...Mermaid World! The video above was put together by our talented Brandon Jones who still remembers After Effects! ;) Seriously it's been a dream come true to design one of the magical creatures I love most. I was very fortunate to be given practically full freedom to create the look and style of the mermaids and I had so much fun doing it!
Below are just a few of designs and their final renders. The beautiful renders were done by the talented Barlow Gilmore, Emery Miller, George, Rodgers, Katherine Waddell, Lain Yee, Peter Emmerich, and Ryan Hungerford . Katherine also did all the mermaid animations for the game and they are just so wonderful. We are rolling out a ton of new features in the next few weeks so if you love mermaids and a mysterious story..definitely check it out! :)
Whoo-hoo this is my 100th blog post. Out of 4 years I prob should have more than that but yay!!! Aside from all this mermaid madness I have other cool news to share. I will be at Disney's Wonderground Gallery this weekend as part of the Artisan Showcase they have there. I'll be at the gallery Saturday and Sunday from 1-4 and will have select prints with me and a bunch of new mini originals. If you are in the LA area and specifically Downtown Disney-come on by! :)

Curiosities Exhibition
The Tank
Gouache on watercolor 5x7
I was recently invited by Gallery Nucleus to be a part of Vicky Ying and Mike Yamada's show to celebrate their upcoming book Curiosities! I am very happy to be in this show along with over 40 talented artists sharing their take on what they envision they might discover in an old mysterious mansion.
The exhibition opens today in Alhambra, CA from 7pm-11 pm so if you are in the area do stop by and check out all the wonderful oddities in store.
Curious for more about the show? Get all the details right here!
I forgot to take a decent photo of my painting so the one I have here is taken in the dark with my iphone before I framed it. : / Hopefully i'll be able to get some better photos of it later! This piece was challenging for me because I attempted to work more with dramatic lighting (something which I don't normally do) and it's also a larger size at 5x7 as I am used to my mini 2x3 inch paintings. ;)
If I were exploring an odd mansion I would love to come across what appears to be an antique, ornate fish tank...filled with small sea dragon-like mermaids!
Have a great weekend everyone!

WonderCon Commissions and mini paintings

Here are some commissions I did at WonderCon! Thank you to everyone who stopped by my table. It was wonderful to meet you all and I had a very exciting and busy busy time! :D
I also wanted to share some new mermaids for my mini frames. I will probably be saving and bringing them with me to conventions later on in the year.

Here are the pencil drawings

And with watercolor! I try to fit as many on a 9 x 12 watercolor sheet as I can. Usually it works out so that all the paper is used unless some turn out yucky and get X marks through them...

I will leave you with a mini painting of this little tropical girl. My company is taking us to Hawaii for a week and I'm really excited!!! I'm sure I will have paintings to share when I get back!
Ta-ta!

Mermie
I really don't know how to paint but my goal is to learn how to this year...For my birthday which was on the 23rd, Juan bought me the entire set of Dr. Martins concentrated watercolors which makes me sooooo happy!!!
I am so inspired by Bill Presing's wonderful style of painting. Here's a mermie in watercolor I did last night.
